Complete Recordings on Deutsche Grammophon

Seiji Ozawa has always fascinated with his captivating wit, his deep respect for the music and his unique personality, with which he became the first Asian conductor to become an international star. Deutsche Grammophon takes its 120th anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate with this extensive CD box one of their most popular and successful conductors. For the first time ever, Seiji Ozawa's complete recordings will be presented on a total of 50 CDs, resulting from his ongoing collaboration with the traditional label. Included are recordings with exceptional artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Cathleen Battle, Plácido Domingo, Itzhak Perlman, Mstilav Rostropovich, as well as recordings with renowned top orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker or the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The diverse repertoire offers a cross-section of the entire orchestral literature and includes, among others, the most famous works by Berlioz and Ravel, as well as the rarely recorded symphonies by Sergei Prokofiev. Rounding out the issue is a 120-page booklet with a new essay by Julia Spinola and a work index.
