Walter explores his family history in the village of Roth, Germany and the region of Hessen. He looks at growing up in Chicago as a Jewish immigrant with relatives in Germany and the effect that had on his family living in Hyde Park, Chicago. He discusses his continued involvement with his village, Roth, and his trips to there with his wife, children and grandchildren through which he has come to terms with his family's tragic past.
