Lily Sandover has risked everything in her attempt to take down the Commission of the People and expose the corruption in post-Second Revolution America. Her group known as the Central Angels is gaining ground, forcing the people to look at the Commission of the People and question its practices. When Lily is disowned from her family, she begins planning more drastic moves, rallying her small collection of rebels against the Commission of the People and Dana Christenson. But she underestimates her opponent. She soon finds herself backed into a corner, struggling to maintain her position with the people against widespread propaganda and being framed for deadly attacks on the capital city. Lily begins to lose hope and wonders if she will find a way to defeat Dana Christenson and bring about the change so desperately needed in America. Suffering through loss and heartbreak, Lily must fight to the bitter end against Dana's influence, or try to survive a crushing defeat and flee the country before Dana can capture her.(This is the Alternate Ending of the novel)
