Parallel Opposites

August, 2003. After the attacks in New York and further talk of global warming, two young adults seek refuge as they confront their own rising disorder. At odds with the past and an uncertain future, they're quickly dismantled by the remains of their drug and alcohol use. Laura, whose recent past still terrorizes her, soon finds someone new. At a time she needs to move forward, she stares into a childhood she can never get back. Elsewhere, Michael moves into another apartment after a suicide attempt and gradually comes to terms with a severe illness. Parallel Opposites begins their struggle to reclaim the identities they lost. In the end, they hold more in common than roads of Nebraska.
