Robin's Great Adventure: This is the true story of a boy called Robin who wanted to be an explorer, an adventurer. Maybe travel the world, visit the deserts and jungles and climb snowy mountains. Born in Germany at the end of the 19th century, he had already lived in three countries before he started school in England in 1906. Robin couldn't wait to grow up and go off and do his own thing, like hunting and fishing and travel the world - maybe even join the Navy. His parents liked to spend time overseas with friends and relatives and so they sent Robin and his elder brother Pip to boarding school. Robin attended Osborne Naval College and later Eton. Just as he was about to leave school and embark on a life of adventure the Great War broke out - and changed everything.
