Pondering on the Imponderables: a Homoeopathic Proving of Pink Light
Nevorndutt Somaru
It is well known that a large majority of homoeopathic medicines are derived from the plant, mineral and animal kingdoms the world over. Many of these ''polychrest'' remedies are considered to be extremely valuable and a large amount of information regarding their clinical use and therapeutic effectiveness can be very easily obtained. However there also exists a relatively obscure cluster of remedies that have become a highly contentious subject in the field of homoeopathic medicine: the imponderabilia. Extremely little is known about these remedies except that they have existed from the very early beginnings of homoeopathy - and that they have fallen into a state of relative insignificance over the last few decades. This work attempts to broaden our understanding about this much neglected group of remedies; firstly through a homoeopathic proving of pink light, followed by a subsequent group analysis of the imponderabilia as an entirety. This analysis should be helpful in shedding new insights into the imponderable remedies and would be very useful to both the students and professionals of homoeopathy alike, who may want to consider using these remedies in future practice.
