The Mouse That Scored

Bad Boy Badger and The Snooty Ooty Gang attempt to upset life in the Undermead woods once again! The birds, whiskered-friends and the bushy-tailed inhabitants have other ideas, however. Ollie Owl, the wisest owl in the whole world (or so he claims) has a clever plan. Percy Pigeon, a former 300 Champion and Undermead's hope for The British Poetry and Prose Championship, has a plan, too. Meanwhile, Sammy Snail and Tommy Tortoise have already planned a race for themselves but Ferdinand Fox and Roland Rabbit have been asked to reorganise it. Fortunately, Ebenezer and Ethel Eagle agree to help them. Lord Hawley Housemouse and General Well-Being become somewhat confused in their roles and question the usefulness of an imitation wooden rifle that shouts 'BANG!'. Dottie Dormouse is both the bravest and the most timid inhabitant of Undermead. Word reaches her a football match has been arranged between The Undermeaders and The Badgers. Henrietta Hedgehog has made a 'special' batch of blackberry pies and Dotty is asked to offer them to Bad Boy and his Gang. Dotty is very little and the badgers are so big!She is terrified! When the match stands at a draw she is asked to join The Undermeaders on the pitch and to score a winning goal. With shivering legs and trembling toes she takes to the field with blackberry pies and a talking football. The result was unbelievable!Rocky Ram and The Sheeptones turn up for an impromptu concert to which everybody is invited and Ollie Owl and Bad Boy Badger exchange words. The longest story in the series at approximately 30,000 words. It was fun to write!
