Fidelio - Beethoven Arrangements

Who does not know them, the great masterpieces of Beethoven? Symphonies, concerts, etc. are available in innumerable recordings and versions. But the 2nd piano concerto, arranged for violin and orchestra? Yes, it is possible and it sounds refreshingly new and consistent! The Russian-born violinist Elena Denisova and the composer and arranger Franz Hummel ventured into this uncharted territory, and the result is simply poignant. There you discover passages and melodies that you have never heard before. The same applies to three arias from "Fidelio" which are being arranged for Violin and orchestra and combined into a small suite result in a very independent instrumental drama. Denisova is accompanied by the Russian National Orchestra, conducted by Alexei Kornienko.
